    HARAMBEE (To be Launched)

    Harambee Logo

HARAMBEE (Swahili for Fundraising) is an online platform where Black Canada can efficiently pool resources to acquire revenue-generating assets  with complete transparency and accountability.   The platform facilitates fundraising at a national scale while enabling local decision-making.   Individual and Community economic growth will be achieved faster and greater, when we pool resources.   Our Logo symbolizes Community wealth flowing thru successive generations, each wealthier than the previous.

We believe in the principle of little from many, adds up to much without imposing a financial burden on anyone.   We ask each working Black Canadian to donate $100 per year to a  Community Funds over the next ten (10) years.     The funds are invested in income-generating opportunities approved by the Community, and the ROI grows the pool.    Investment options include dividends-paying stocks, equity stake in profitable Companies, Social Enterprises, mortgages & loans, commercial real estate, etc…    We will soon produce a BlackPaper with the operational details of the strategy.

Communities and members benefit in a variety of ways as the funds grows and includes, mortgages & loans, special grant programs for lower income families, educational programs, use of purchased community assets, scholarships, employment, to name a few.

Pooling funds is an effective strategy for Community development and this has been successfully used by other Communities.  It is time we  use the same strategy.  This is our opportunity for us to back our desire for change with money to make it happen.  This is how DIGNITY is claimed, how RESPECT is earned.
